Following a relatively quiet Spring and Summer, Stereogram Recordings is set to jump back into action this Autumn and Winter with a new release from a brand new signing to the label plus live dates from six acts on the roster.
The latest addition to the Stereogram roster are The Vintage Calvinos. Based in Aberdeen, their debut album “An Invitation to Infamy” is scheduled for release on Friday October 27th. It will be preceeded by a single, “No Room At The Inn” on Friday October 6th.
On the live front, London based Those Unfortunates finally make it to Edinburgh with a gig at The Jazz Bar on Friday October 13th. Expect to hear material from their self-released album “Nothing Isn’t Beautiful” alongside the two singles they released on Stereogram last year.
STOOR have lined up a couple of dates, the first as part of Jockrock’s 20th Anniversary celebration at Stereo in Glasgow on Friday October 20th, and the second supporting Brix & The Extracated at Beat Generator in Dundee on Saturday November 24th.
The Eastern Swell also have a couple of appearances upcoming. The first is at the EH6 Festival at The Biscuit Factory in Edinburgh on Sunday October 22nd and the second is at The Voodoo Rooms, also in Edinburgh, on Thursday October 26th, at a benefit gig for the Edinburgh Carers Council. Label boss and Cathode Ray frontman Jeremy Thoms will be doing a DJ set that night too.
Next up, James King & The Lonewolves return to live action in Glasgow at McChuills on Saturday November 18th. Expect to hear previews of new material from their forthcoming second album.
Finally, The Band of Holy Joy and The Cathode Ray will be sharing a stage again at a PennyBlackMusic night at The Wee Red Bar in Edinburgh on Sunday December 10th.
